I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all our club volunteers. As we start the new season I am well aware that for many the end of season break didn't really happen! With the turf available for us to use, many have enjoyed attending the two summer hockey comps, extra skills training sessions, private training hire and two major club events, keeping our volunteers very busy!
I want to highlight the amazing team that organises, plans, inspires and coordinates the behind the scenes club development - your board and committee members you will see them around the turf .
The next team to acknowledge are the coaches and managers for 2023. We are grateful for their efforts to teach us new hockey skills and keep our teams organised throughout the season.
If you are keen to put your hand up for any role (large or small) please let me know. The season runs through to September, and it's good to share the load. In the same way, if your circumstances change through the season and you need some help, let us know, the hockey club will always try to help where possible.
Talking of helping out... please take a look at our wonderful list of local businesses that support our club. Sportspower- Margaret River, for example have some great deals on hockey sticks at the moment - so pop in and see Matt Kent and the team.
Finally I wish to welcome all our new players and families to the club. We look forward to getting to know you all better either on the pitch or on the sideline! We try to send a newsletter out monthly (thanks to Alice) with a round up of the news, and we have social media posts on Facebook and Instagram (thanks to Alicia). If you can't find the info you need about playing or what's happening around the club, let us know, we're here to help.
Wishing you all a very good season - see you out on the turf!
